Meet the team
Rachelle and James Walton lead ministry efforts. They have been married for 7 years. James has been serving as a Youth Pastor for the past 8 years and Rachelle as a Pastoral Counselor for the past two years. They live in Carlsbad, CA with their 5 month old son, Cedar Jon and their golden retriever puppy, Pippi. They desire to train and equip young people to serve the church through sport, art, and counseling.
Our Story
Don Watson (James’ Grandfather) founded DCM in 1983. Don was a faithful pastor to many, and before he died he was excited to pass on his legacy to his grandson. In his later years, Don primarily served through a monthly newsletter known as: “And You Visited Me.” Before Don’s passing, his prayers could be heard resounding through his home every night before bed for all of his family members and faithful supporters of DCM.
Vision
Ephesians 4:12 states, “Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.” We believe one way we can equip God’s people to do his work is to work with an organization called YWAM (Youth With A Mission). Our ultimate hope is to plant a YWAM base in Carlsbad, CA to help train and disciple young people to reach others with the good news of the Gospel.
